1,531 youth leaders in Cuba have received in-depth Jesus-Focused training!

Of the 11 million people in Cuba, 15% are 15-19 years old and over 50% are 25 years old or younger. Since 1959, ministry to the younger generation in Cuba has suffered from the constraints of Communism. As the country begins opening up to outside influences, we find a generation of teenagers, raised in a god-less society, defenseless to worldly pressures, but hungry to know God. In the past, churches have lacked the tools to reach them, but now Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry (JFYM) is closing the leadership gap by offering vision, training, resources and coaching that is producing life-change and equipping life-changers.

cuba-group-162x150Elio, Alexi, Abdiel, Pino, Gian Carlos, Pancho, David, and Darwin, and a total of 56 Eagle Leaders, lead Reach Out’s team in Cuba. Supported with quality resources in Spanish, these visionary leaders equip youth leaders who then reach teenagers. God is raising up strong leaders for His youth movement in Cuba.

Going Forward

Since 2003, over 2,650 youth leaders have been trained in JFYM and about 60 Eagle Leaders have implemented JFYM in their churches. They have translated, printed and distributed 14 of Reach Out’s resources. The Cuban churches that Reach Out trains continue to bear fruit through well equipped, multiplying leaders, who reach and disciple the younger generation. In 2017-2018 the Reach Out team in Cuba will:

  • Equip 500 more younger generation leaders but conducting 25 JFYM Forums.
  • Provide in-depth coaching for 110 leaders who implement JFYM in 90 churches.
  • Certify and mobilize 25 more Cuban youth leaders to equip and mentor others in JFYM.
  • Translate three more books of the “Building Leaders Series”.
  • Print and distribute four books from the “Moving Toward Maturity Series”, as well as the “Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry Notebook” and “Jesus No Equal” book and journal.
  • Lead the Eagle Leader’s Experience for 60 Eagle Leaders to encourage and envision toward our goal of “Cuba for Christ”.

As a result, the Cuban churches Reach Out trains will continue to bear fruit through well-equipped, multiplying leaders who reach and disciple the younger generation.
